Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is a complicated subject with many facets, it is an industry in itself. SEO and web design are however closely linked.

SEO can be further divided into Organic SEO and Paid SEO (also know as Pay Per Click (PPC).I use Organic SEO principles on my sites, to not impede search engines (google, yahoo etc) from crawling and indexing your site. To encourage traffic to your site I will ensure that the meta data of the Search Engine Results Page (SERP) is set up correctly , XML Site maps configured, headings and subheading tags are correctly utilized, image alt tags are set up, if the business is a local business then I will get this registered with google to enable it to appear on google maps searches.

However, the content on the site itself is something that would have to come from your own marketing team. Quality, authoritative content takes time to build up and requires genuinely quality copy (content). Keyword research, back-linking and blogging playing a part too.
